Here we have the Inishbofin Island shawl. It’s 74″ in length and 13″ wide. The mist-swathed Island of Inishbofin lies off the coast of Connemara in County Galway. Inishbofin means Island of the White Cow. Local folklore has it that every seven years  an enchanted white cow rises from a lake on Inishbofin and heralding a period of peace and prosperity.
